The first shearing of the alpaca fibre, generally when the alpacas are under one-year-old, is classified as baby alpaca. The fibre of alpacas is harvested annually in a humane way by shearing them in a similar way to how sheep are shorn each spring. Baby alpaca fibre comes from the underside of the neck of the alpaca, where the fibre is the finest and softest. Baby alpaca duvet is much softer and feels much lighter than the signature alpaca duvet. Our premium line of baby alpaca duvet will provide you an elevated and maximum sleeping comfort. Sleep in the clouds and feel the gift of pure sleep!
Alpaca is respected for its lightweight and for its superior thermostat. This is due to its hollow core within each follicle. This is what helps regulate your body temperature. The hollow core traps a pocket of air inside it so the fiber warms up very quickly and stays insulated longer, at the same time, it breathes through the air pockets moderating the temperature. In essence, the alpaca duvet is perfect for all year round, keeping sleeper at a temperature that is just right for maximum sleeping comfort.
LATIERRA duvets do not mix any secondary material collected during the process of the fiber. Only clean tops, carded and combed clean fibers, are used to ensure excellence in quality.
